Introduction

Today, the large number of complex tasks and problems within the fields of economics can only be solved through a combination of means: economic expertise, the application of advanced quantitative methods and modern computing technology.
With this idea in mind C.A.S.E. was created. It serves as an institutional framework, bringing together extraordinary high qualified researchers from the different universities and scientific centers in Berlin, with a background in statistics, mathematics and economics to find solutions for a better economic understanding.

Director: Prof. Dr. Wolfgang K. Härdle
Vice-Director: Prof. Dr. Daniel Klapper
