The last lecture was on Wednesday, 16 July 2014. Mikolaj Malinowski (Uitrecht/Berlin) gave a talk entitled "Serfs and the city; market conditions, surplus extraction institutions and urban growth in Poland, 1500-1772". The series is organised by Nikolaus Wolf.

The renewal application for C.A.S.E.’s next term was submitted by Daniel Klapper to the HU on 24 April. We are still looking for the final outcome and hope that the application will be accepted shortly.

We are pleased to announce that Michele Gazzola is the latest Doctor to become a member of CASE.
We are very sad to announce the untimely passing of long-term C.A.S.E. member Prof. Dr. Christian Kirchner. Professor Kirchner was a reliable and popular colleague who enriched the scope of C.A.S.E. He will be missed. Please click here for the German obituary notice.
