Daniel Klapper, born in 1964, is director of the Institute for Marketing at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin since April 2012. He held the chair for Consumer Goods Marketing at the Goethe-University Frankfurt/Main from 2006 to 2012 and the chair for Marketing at the Chistian-Albrechts University Kiel from 2001 to 2006. His research activities focus on quantitative models for studying consumer choice behaviour and strategic behaviour of firms. He also carries out studies on competition between firms, especially in the consumer goods industry, advertising efficiency and optimal pricing.
